The long-awaited Army Regulation 670-1, with new rules on army authorized boots, tattoos, hairstyles, grooming and uniform wear, went into effect Monday, after being unofficially leaked on Facebook.

“The Army is a profession, and one of the ways our leaders and the American people measure our professionalism is by our appearance,” Sgt. Maj. of the Army Ray Chandler wrote on his Facebook page. “Wearing of the uniform, as well as our overall military appearance, should be a matter of personal pride for all soldiers.”

I think this Is stupid, putting the 679-1 tattoo regulation into effect. That’s not fair to others that want to join yeah who cares if thy have a tattoo it’s just art on the human body like me for instants. I have tattoos on my arm and I went to take the practice test so that I can get ready to go to meps but no I found out by the recruiter that I can’t go in because of my tattoo on my arms is to big, so what its art that’s all it is. What about the future soldiers that want to join what your just going to revoke them cause they have tattoos I’m sorry but that is dumb.Your stoping a lot of people from joining cause of that stupid rule and iv been trying so hard to get in and now I can’t, I really wanted to be in the army. I wanted to be able to look at my family and actually be able to say that I’m serving in the military in the army and be proud of that but no you took that away from me and that’s not right, it’s messed up, what your doing others is messed up they shouldn’t have to suffer this stupid tattoo policy cause you don’t want people with tattoos to join. I just wish you can make it the way it use to be so that anybody can join for the same reasons that I want to.
