Military members will receive a nice pay raise in 2019, a 2.6% increase above 2018 pay rates. The 2.6% pay raise was the largest since 2010. The pay tables on this page went into effect on January 1, 2019, and were reflected in the first mid-month paycheck, which was sent out on January 15, 2019.

Military members are paid in arrears, usually on the 1st and 15th of the month, unless the payday falls on a weekend or holiday. If that is the case, they are paid in the preceding business day.

The following military pay charts cover all military members, including officers and enlisted members.

2019 Pay Charts – Enlisted Members (E1 – E9)

Military members are paid based on their pay grade (rank) and years of service. The following military pay charts are broken into several sections to make it easier to read. Simply find your pay grade and years of service.

  3. Limitations of Basic Pay for Senior Ranking Officers: Basic pay is limited to the rate of basic pay for level II of the Executive Schedule in effect during calendar year 2019, which is $16,025.10 per month for officers at pay grades O-7 through O-10.  This includes officers serving as:

Dustin, you’ll get a final DD214 on your final active duty before you file for retired awaiting pay. However it’s just like all the other DD214s for your other periods of active duty.

When you reach 20 good years then you’ll receive a Notice Of Eligibility, and when your retirement request is approved then you’ll receive more notices through your service’s databases and e-mails. Your retirement request goers up to the National Guard HRC, but after it’s approved I’m not sure of the specific notification methods for the individual National Guard units.
